Pressure bleeding has become more and more popular in recent years. Not only because the pressure from the master cylinder is able to guarantee that air will be not reintroduced back into the brake bleeder valve, but also because it can be done just by one person. You can use a manual tank to hand pump the pressure or use a professional machine for producing pressure and filling in new brake fluid, and then you go to the wheels to bleed out the old brake fluid one after another wheels, and then it's done. One feature for the brake pressure bleeding method is to have a good adapter to the master cylinder, and Cosda's universal brake bleeding adapter is here to help.
To begin with, this tool has two adjustable wings that can be move inward and outward so the bottom claws can grab the master cylinder reservoir filler neck. Second, you will want to adjust the height of the tool. The height of the rubber connector can be adjusted by screwing or unscrewing the fixing nut, and the cone shape is able to fit a large range of filler neck openings. Furthermore, the material of the rubber is the high quality EPDM rubber, and this type of rubber is renowned for its great resistance to the aggressive brake fluid. Lastly, the connector has a 90 degree design that can help the adapter to be connected onto the brake master cylinder even if it's located in a confined location in the engine compartment. The swivel feature definitely helps the flexibility and ease of use for this adapter.
After connecting the adapter to the master cylinder filler neck, make sure that the adapter is securely connected. You can shake the adapter slightly to make sure that there's no gap. After hooking up with a manual pump/tank or brake bleeder machine, perform the low pressure leak test. Increase the pressure to 0.5 bar or 7 psi, leave the brake system pressurized for about 1 minute to see if there's any leaks. Use a flashlight to check the places around the master cylinder reservoir. If there's no brake fluid leaks around, then you can go on increasing the pressure to the specified pressure as required for your car. The low pressure leak test is an important but often neglected step because the brake fluid leaks with pressure will make the brake fluid spraying somewhere, and damage the car paint or even your body.
