Find a suitable sized drill and use it to create a hole on the broken stud or the stripped internal hex on the screw. Drill the hole deep enough so the screw extractor will have sufficient contact with the screw/stud. Finally insert a suitable-sized screw extractor and turn counter clockwise. The tip of the screw extractors have reverse threads, which means when you turn anticlockwise to remove the screw or stud, the reverse threads on the extractors will actually grab the object more tightly. The broke stud or stripped screw will then be removed very easily. In some cases that the fasteners' threads are very stubborn, making it very difficult to remove. You can spray some lubricant, such as WD-40, and wait up for 3-5 minutes, and then the fasteners can be removed as a breeze. The other side of the screw extractors are 12mm and 16mm external hex, so you can just use a box wrench or a socket for removal. But please pay attention that the extractors are, as the name suggests, to extract problematic fasteners. They are not design for installation.
