9 Way 5LB Slide Hammer and Puller Set

This highly versatile tool set encompasses different types of attachments when you want to work on some pulling, and sometimes installing, jobs with the help of the 5 lb slide hammer or with a pressure screw. The slide hammer has a very nice weight to it, and when you pull very hard, the weight and the speed are helping you to remove the parts very easily. The attachments included can be divided into several categories

(1) Wheel hub pullers

The wheel hub puller attachments, or duck foot jaws if you prefer to call it this way, come in two types: one is front hub, and the other the rear hub. The holes on the attachment are able to mesh with different kinds of bolt patterns on the car, and use the wheel bolts or lug nuts to fasten the hub pullers properly and securely onto the wheel hubs. By exercising the slide hammer. With the pressure screw provided, you may also use the attachments to push the CV axle off the wheel hub.

(2) Dent puller

The small screw can be attached to the slide hammer to pull out the dent on a sheet metal. Use an electric drill (not included) to drill a hole on the center of the dent, and screw in the thin screw into the hole you just drilled, and use the weight of the slide hammer to yank the dent out to the flat surface. If the dent is seriously deformed, you may want to drill several holes in different spots of the dent to work on it. 

(3) Hook puller

The hook attachment has a dull internal edge so the hook doesn't create any damage on the car when pulling parts off. The hook puller can be used to pull or simply to dislocate something in the car with very limited access thanks to the long reach of the slide hammer. You may also want to use the hook to move the wheel disc if the disc is tightly attached to the wheel hub. 

(4) Thread puller

This thread puller is highly recommended by mechanics, and it might also be their favorite attachment from this kit. The thread can be screwed into the end of a vice grip, and that allows you to connect the vice grip to the slide hammer. It is very handy when you are trying to pull nails

(5) Jaw pullers

The jaws provided in the kit can be turned into 2-way and 3-way jaws, and by reorienting the directions, you can convert them to internal or external jaw pullers. The jaw assemblies can be connected to the slide hammer or a pressure screw, depending on where you want to pull the parts out. For example, when a pilot bearing should be removed, you can use the 3 jaws and connect them with a pressure screw. By fastening the pressure screw, the pilot bearing can be gradually pushed out. In some cases when the space is limited, you can use the 2-way jaws to insert to the small hole in the pilot bearing, and by just tapping the slide hammer a couple of times, the pilot bearing can be pulled out from the clutch.
