Universal Coolant Refilling Funnel Set with Extension Pipes (9 pcs)

Having a non-spill coolant funnel will help you a lot when you are doing cooling system maintenance. Whenever we are servicing the cooling system, be it a leak test or changing a water pump, and essentially changing coolant will be an important process. What this coolant funnel does is to keep the coolant at the highest point in the cooling system because after refilling the new coolant we will need to let the engine run at idle for twenty to thirty minutes in order to burp all the air out. The air trapped inside the cooling system will cause air locks, which will prevent coolant from cooling down that specific area, and eventually causing regional overheating. When the engine is running, and the coolant circulates inside the cooling system, the trapped air will be running along with the liquid flow, and finally the trapped air makes its way to the highest point. 

This funnel set comes with one universal adapter with a rubber part at the bottom. When you fasten the rotor part the rubber part will expand. When fitting with the three other rubber rings, the expandable rubber part can be fitted to a wide range of the coolant reservoir or expansion tank filler necks. 

If you have a full strength coolant, mix it with distilled water in equal parts. But if you have premixed coolant, don’t worry about mixing it then, just use it directly. After pouring the coolant to the right volume into the cooling system, turn on the engine and let the engine run for a while, let’s say 5 to 10 minutes, and the thermostat will open up, and when that happens, you will start to see more and more bubbles are coming out of the cooling system. Check on your dashboard to see if the cooling system temperature is reaching the operating temperature. You can also depress the accelerator pedal from time to time to rpm 2000 and that will push the water pump to run faster and it will let more air out of the system. 

The funnel has a transparent part, and that allows you to see clearly still how much air is in the coolant. 

When you find that there’s barely no air running out of the cooling system from the funnel, hold the transparent tube and quickly pull the funnel out and the plate will quickly shut off the outlet so there’s a minimum amount of coolant leaked when disconnecting the funnel from the adapter.
